The Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA), also known as the Sunshine Law, was designed to ensure the rights of the people to have adequate advance notice of, and to attend, all meetings of public bodies at which any business affecting the public is discussed or acted upon in any way. OPMA permits members of the public to participate in their government, make their voices heard before decisions are made, and lobby for reforms in their communities.
Our work spans from lawsuits challenging government actions that did not comply with OPMA’s procedures to amicus filings in our appellate courts to advance OPMA’s principles.
