CJ Griffin Quoted in NorthJersey.com Article on Fast-Tracked Bill Passed by Legislature Allowing Police to View Bodycam Video Before Filing Incident Reports

CJ Griffin, Director of the Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden, was quoted in the Northjersey.com article, “NJ Legislature passes bill to let police view bodycam video before filing incident reports.” The article discusses the controversial bill rushed through the legislative process in two weeks, sparking much debate. The bill was sent to Governor Murphy.

“The bodycam law was the only reform the Legislature passed last year and today they gutted it, turning cameras from a police accountability tool to a weapon for bad apples to get their stories straight,” said C.J. Griffin, a Hackensack attorney who focuses on public records access.
